Listing No.: 40046
Model: 1969 Shelby GT500
Sold, but we have others. 1969 Shelby GT500 Super Cobra Jet 428 Engine 4 Speed This is an authentic Shelby GT500, originally equipped with a rare SCJ engine, Drag Pack option, 3:91 traction-lok differential, power steering, power disc brakes, tilt-away steering wheel. Original power train has been replaced. The block is "D4" date coded (1974) FE block - identical to the original but with a different date code and internal components. Heads and manifolds are original and correct. Smog equipment is still on the engine, with correct hoses, in a nicely detailed engine compartment. The toploader 4 speed is from a '70 model GT500. Silver Jade paint is good, but beginning to show signs of aging. Under florescent light, swirl marks are evident in places. It is one of only 170 Super CobraJet GT500's built, and one of ten originally painted Black Jade. There is no rust - wheel houses, rear quarter panels, and floor pans have been replaced. Undercarriage has been painted black. Interior is original and in good condition. Headliner is new but needs to be tightened up a bit. The car is otherwise correct with the original rear end and 31 spline rear axels. Do your homework on this one. A year ago, a properly restored 1969 Drag Pack optioned GT500 would sell for close to $200K. In today's market $135K. This car needs the date coded SCJ power train to be a correct car. That can be sourced through our Shelby contacts, and the current power train could be sold to offset costs. Original wheels and Lucas lamps, are on the car, glass is original and in good shape. Windshield is original and shows minor pitting. In short it needs $20-$25K of drive train replacement and interior/exterior upgrades to be exceptional.
