1962 Corvette 4 Speed Fuelie w/ Both Tops!

Listing No.: 50536
Model: 1962 Chevrolet Corvette
Price: $98,555

This is a beautiful 1962 Corvette in matching red interior and exterior. It’s powered by a fuel-injected 327ci V8, mated with a four-speed manual transmission. The “RF” stamping on the engine pad indicates it is a fuel-injected 327ci/360hp engine with a hi-lift camshaft. The Corvette was acquired by the current owner three years ago. The new owner subsequently commissioned $20,000 in restoration work by Just Corvettes of Northfield, Illinois. This included a rebuild of the original T10 transmission, wiring updates, replacement of the front stabilizer bar, bushings, and links, replacement with correct rear leaf springs, and brake servicing. The Rochester fuel injection unit was also overhauled. At this time steel 15” wheels, with factory bright covers, shod with Firestone Deluxe Champion whitewall tires were installed. Additional work was performed, including replacement of the ignition harness and battery, re-coring of the radiator, and installation of new ignition components, belts, hoses, and fluids. The fuel and temperature gauges were rebuilt as well, and the fuel sending unit was replaced. The front parking lights were also replaced, along with the rear wiring harness. The exhaust system was replaced under previous ownership. The original interior is in excellent condition, showing only minor wear consistent with a well maintained survivor. The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a 7,000 rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, amperage, and oil pressure. Amenities include a push-button Wonderbar AM radio, analog clock, cigarette lighter, lap belts, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a replacement wiper motor switch and slide actuator, and rubber floor mats. The equipment includes a white convertible top, and a body-color removable hardtop. The upholstery was correctly replaced along with the carpeting, but the balance of the interior appears to be largely original. The undercarriage components appear to be correct. And with the exception of the items noted in this narrative, there is no evidence of modifications. All the parts present themselves as OEM, including the replaced leaf springs. Nothing stands out as an aftermarket part. The five-digit odometer shows 57k miles, and true mileage is unknown. However, given the condition of the undercarriage, a case could be made that the mileage on the odometer is original. The fiberglass bodywork is finished in red and has one known repaint under previous ownership. Close-up photos of the paint, trim, and lenses, as well as the rebuild invoice, are shown in the gallery. Overall, this is an exceptionally well cared for, and well maintained, ’62 fuel injected Corvette. It’s located in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and available for inspection by appointment.
